Hot on the heels of one of this year's stand-out albums - the intoxicating debut 'Seven Dreams of Fire' - hafendisko deliver a delicious remix package of Lydmor & Bon Homme's first single, the contemporary classic 'Things We Do For Love', a glorious concoction of contrapuntal synth lines, emotional chord progressions and soaring melodies.
Kompakt stalwart John Tejada focuses his re-work on a bubbling analogue bassline and understated synth riff to create a low-key house groove that calls to mind Matthew Herbert's early work with Dani Siciliano. At all times he emphasises Lydmor & Bon Homme's USP: the delicious combinations and conjunctions of contrasting male and female voices, so different in texture, tone and delivery. In contrast, his dub version cuts the vocals away, adding flanged, metallic tones that rise and fall in buoyant peaks and troughs.
Hamburg's favourite fraternal double act, Deo & Z-Man build their version on Tomas Høffding's original live bass, adding percussive flourishes and smooth synth progressions upon which Lydmor's soaring chorus floats while the Club Mix - available in both vocal and instrumental versions - rearranges the core elements for dancefloors with a Balearic vibe. Once again, the bass takes centre stage, as Lydmor's reverberating vocal grows ever more ethereal, clima- xing in clouds of heavenly drones.
